Gina M. Morros
Training Specialist; Health Educator; Spanish Medical Interpreter


Ms. Morros is a Health Educator, Spanish Medical Interpreter, and Family Advocate.  She has worked as an Interpreter for 14 years in the educational and medical field.  She interprets and advocates for families through the EDC Public Health Department in the arena of Maternal Child Adolescent Health.  Her experience in Health Education covers all areas of Childbirth: prenatal, birth, and postpartum, Child Passenger Safety and Domestic Violence.  She has been certified as a HIV/STI counselor for 6 years. 

In the field of education, she has 7 years experience as a Bilingual Teacher Assistant working in Bilingual Education with the Los Angeles Unified School District and in Special Education as a Resource Specialist Technician with the El Dorado High School District.  She has interpreted for the School Attendance Review Board and Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) meetings.

Currently she is completing certifications for Childbirth Educator, Postnatal Educator, and Lactation Educator.  She participates with California Health Interpreter Association in the development of standards to further the development of a process for certification and accreditation for medical interpreters in California.
